I'm stuck. Where's the hint button?
There isn't one, and there will never be one. The whole game is built around not having them. Everything a leaf needs is inside the book, usually on an earlier leaf you have already restored. When you find the answer you should be able to say "I had everything I needed." If you ever solve something and that isn't true, that is a real defect and I want to hear about it.
A leaf says RESTORATION LOCKED.
It needs a key you haven't recovered yet. The panel names which one and which leaf produced it. You can still read the leaf and use any instrument you have calibrated. The book is open from the first minute; only restoring is gated.
My answer is right but the field rejects it.
Check the declared format above the field. It tells you the shape of the answer ("four-digit year", "letter + slot"). Capitalization, spacing and punctuation are ignored. Where a format doesn't state an order for a multi-part answer, either order is accepted. If you are certain a correct answer is being refused, email me the leaf number and exactly what you typed; that is a bug and it gets fixed.
What does the purchase unlock?
One payment, once. Act I (leaves 01–09) restores free forever. The unlock enables restoring leaves 10–28. Reading every leaf is free either way. The purchase never hides story, only the act of restoring it. No subscription, no consumables, no ads, and no hints for sale.
I paid, and a new phone doesn't know it.
Open any locked leaf and tap RESTORE on the licence panel. Purchases are tied to your Apple Account.
I lost my progress.
Progress lives only on the device, in the app's own storage. Deleting the app deletes it. There is no account and no cloud copy, which also means there is nothing of yours on a server anywhere.
One exception is deliberate: the third ending permanently erases your restoration. The app asks you twice, plainly, before it does. The ending is supposed to do that.
The journal says it knows something about me.
It's bluffing, and it is bluffing with nothing but what you typed into it and when. The app has no access to your contacts, location, photos, microphone, camera, or anything else. See the privacy policy.
Puzzle-critical text is legible at the largest Dynamic Type setting; if you find any place where it is not, that is a bug worth reporting. No puzzle in the book depends on distinguishing colours or on sound.
